 a. If the hourly earnings are normally distributed with a standard deviation of 4.50, estimate with 95 confidence the mean hourly earnings for all waitresses in Iowa City.
  b. Interpret your confidence interval.

a. LCL = 14.31 and UCL = 19.89.
b. Based on my sample, I estimate that the mean hourly earnings is between 14.31 and 19.89 . I am 95 confident that in repeated sampling, the population parameter would fall in the resulting interval.
