Answer to Question 1

A dowry is a payment by the family of a bride. In contrast, a bride price is the required payment by a groom's family. The payment of bride price varies from a few cattle to thousands of dollars.Dowry, on the other hand, can include money, goods, or property that a woman brings to a marriage.

Answer to Question 2

There are several macro-level reasons why STD rates are rising.
1. Societal stigma and a lack of information promote infections. Many young people believe that they're safe from STDs because they've engaged only in oral sex and not in sexual intercourse. They don't realize that oral sex can lead to STDs. Fellatio tends to be riskier than cunnilingus because ejaculated sperm carry moreinfectious material than vaginal secretions.

2. Assimilation increases risky behavior. According to research, as immigrants become more Americanized, they lose the healthy immigrant effect, which includes avoiding drugs that increase the likelihood of risky sexual behavior and having unprotected heterosexual and MSM sex.
