Gender script refers to how society says someone is supposed to act because of her or his sex. Gender scripts result, over time, in valuing men more than women. In Women's Studies courses, many of the female college students want to focus on male experiences and perspectives, are concerned that men in the class may feel uncomfortable, and sometimes even express a preference for male faculty in these courses.
