Test at the 5 level, against the obvious one-sided alternative, the null hypothesis that, all else being equal, advertising does not affect expenditures on clothes in this market.

Answer to Question 1

H0 : 2 = 0, H1 : 2 > 0
t = 0.025 / 0.020 = 1.25
Reject H0 if t > t23,0.05 = 1.72 therefore, do not reject H0 at the 5 level. We conclude that advertising does not affect expenditures on clothes in this market.
