Answer to Question 1

F

Answer to Question 2

Yes. Bonnie Cook was 5'2 tall and weighed 320 pounds. The medical profession considers a person morbidly obese if he or she weighs either more than twice his or her optimal weight or more than 100 pounds over his or her optimal weight. Ms. Cook was morbidly obese. She had worked at the Ladd Center previously and had a spotless employment record. While a nurse found no limitations on her doing the job applied for, she was denied medical clearance for the job by Dr. O'Brien. In fact Ms. Cook was not disabled, but the MHRH viewed her as disabled. She was thus able to seek the protections of the Rehabilitation Act.
