This statement is a classic example of age discrimination. Many older salesmen earn higher pay than younger salesmen because they are far more knowledgeable and more productive than younger salesmen. Under the ADEA, age should not be a factor in whether an employee is hired or retained in a position. Current ability, qualifications, and performance should be the factors.
