Anything that is neither a mandatory nor a prohibited bargaining subject is called permissive bargaining subjects. Parties cannot insist on permissive subjects to the point of impasse. The examples of proposals regarding to permissive bargaining items are:
Union procedure for ratifying contracts
Attempts to modify the union certification
Strike settlement agreements
Corporate social or charitable activities
