The strict scrutiny test requires the government to demonstrate that the discriminatory treatment was necessary to achieve a compelling government purpose and that the governmental action was narrowly tailored to achieve the compelling purpose.

Answer to Question 2

The role of Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act is to prohibit employers from discriminating against employees because of their service in the military.
