Since Brooke used a credit card for the purchase, she is protected under the TILA. If there is a dispute between a merchant and a customer, the credit card company cannot bill the customer if she makes a good faith effort to resolve the dispute, the dispute is for over 50, and the merchant is in the same state as or within 100 miles of the customer's house.
