Answer to Question 1

Wrongful discharge means that an employer may not fire a worker for a reason that violates basic social rights, duties, or responsibilities. Under the principle of wrongful discharge, employers:
may not discharge an employee for refusing to break the law;
may not fire an employee for serving on a jury;
may not discharge a worker for exercising a legal right if that right supports public policy; and
courts are sometimes willing to protect employees who do the right thing, even if they violate the boss's orders.

Answer to Question 2
