Hemophilia A is a deficiency in factor VIII. Hemophilia A is not associated with a deficiency in factor IX, XII, or XIII.

Aplastic anemia is caused by diminished erythropoiesis despite an increased need for new eryth-rocytes. Vaso-occlusive crisis is manifested by pain. Sequestered crisis is manifested by enlarged spleen. Hyperhemolytic crisis is due to infection.
