When performing inventory on blood collection supplies, the supplies should be organized by:
 
  a. expiration date
  b. ease of use
  c. volume of blood the tubes hold

What should be done if a phlebotomist notices that the specimen tubes he/she is about to use have an expiration date that has already past?
