Answer to Question 1

ANS: D
Possible interference from the presence of lipemia, hemolysis, or hyperbilirubinemia is the greatest disadvantage for photo-optical end-point detection methods.

Answer to Question 2

ANS: D
The presence of hemolysis is not flagged by the instrument but must be noted by the clinical laboratory scientist. All the other flags are instrument generated, although no end point detected may also be a specimen quality flag.
