ANS: D
Tissue with a low mitotic rate is not suitable for chromosome analysis. Tissues with a high mitotic rate, or those that can be stimulated to divide in culture, can be used.

ANS: C
A gene designated 9p23 is located on the short arm of chromosome 9, region 2, band 3, using standard nomenclature.
