Answer to Question 1

ANS: A
Of the malignancies listed, chronic myelogenous leukemia has the greatest chance for long-term survival using available present-day therapy.

Answer to Question 2

ANS: D
The major drawback to chemotherapy, and the one that limits the dose of drug that can be safely given, is suppression of the bone marrow. Low absolute neutrophil counts lead to bacterial infection susceptibility; low platelet counts can result in abnormal bleeding.
