Answer to Question 1

ANS: B
Diepoxybutane is a deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) cross-linking agent. When this is added to Fanconi anemia cells in culture, a characteristic chromosomal breakage occurs. This is the diagnostic test for Fanconi anemia.

Answer to Question 2

ANS: D
The term idiopathic means unknown; therefore the cause of idiopathic aplastic anemia is unknown. All the other items listed are possible causes of secondary aplastic anemia.
