Answer to Question 1

ANS: A
This patient displays both a relative and absolute increase in EOs.

Answer to Question 2

ANS: C
Accuracy is always improved when more cells are counted; however, for normal white cell counts, it is not practical to count more than 100 white cells. However, when the white count is significantly elevated (>40.0  109/L), 200 white cells should be counted and differentiated.
