VCS flow cell: to detect each WBC's volume, conductivity, and scatter for determination of the five part differential
Photodetector: to measure the absorbance of the unknown blood sample passing through it (used in spectrophotometric detection of Hgb)
Sheath fluid: to promote hydrodynamic focusing of cells passing through photodetector
Direct current detection block: to detect electrical resistance when cells pass through the aperture
