Medical assistants can help make the patient's experience a positive one by letting her know exactly what to expect before, during, and after the procedure. The MA should include information about the dietary or activity restrictions before or after the procedure and should specify how long the procedure is expected to take.

The most common method of scheduling patients is fixed appointment scheduling. In this method, the office gives each patient a specific appointment time.
