Answers can be any three of the following:
Employers must offer as much as 12 weeks of unpaid leave after childbirth, adoption, or serious illness or when it is necessary to care for a seriously ill child, spouse, or parent.
A doctor must verify the serious illness and indicate the planned duration of medical treatment.
Health insurance benefits covering the time of the illness must be continued.
Employees will be able to return to the same or a comparable position after the leave period.
Employees may be exempt from leave if they have not worked at least a year or 1,250 hours or 25 hours a week in the previous 12 months.
Employees are required to give 30 days' notice of a future leave.
