RATIONALE: The enamel surface is etched, or conditioned, by a phosphoric acid (or another type of acid) solution that is applied to a clean tooth with a brush, syringe, or small cotton-tipped applicator.It is very important for the area to be dry and the phosphoric acid to be placed correctly in order for a good bond to occur and for the sealant to last.
