Answer to Question 1

DI is a complication of a hypophysectomy. The posterior lobe of the pituitary gland controls urinary output; when this portion of the pituitary is removed or damaged, there is no secretion of antidiuretic hormone to stop excessive urine output.

Answer to Question 2

A
Avoiding highly seasoned or spicy food should be incorporated into diet changes for the patient with GERD. The avoidance of carbonated beverages with meals and the use of a straw do not reduce the impact of GERD. The frequency of dietary intake does not influence GERD.
