Answer to Question 1

B, C, D, E
Respiratory disorders may cause a bad taste in the mouth, fatigue, and an altered sense of smell; additionally, the patient may be wary that eating will exacerbate coughing. Sense of taste is not heightened by respiratory disorders.

Answer to Question 2

A, D, E
The nurse should observe tube placement and urine levels, utilize a syringe to deflate the balloon prior to removing the catheter, and perform catheter care with soap and water. The drainage bag should be kept lower than the bed to prevent backflow of urine into the bag (which could lead to an infection). As long as the bag position is maintained below catheter insertion site, the patient can ambulate unless otherwise contraindicated.
