Answer to Question 1

B
If the AV junction paces the heart, the electrical impulse must travel in a backward (retrograde) direction to activate the atria. If a P wave is seen, it will be inverted in leads II, III, and aVF because the impulse is traveling away from the positive electrode.

Answer to Question 2

Signs and symptoms of decreased cardiac output: acute changes in blood pressure; acute changes in mental status; cold, clammy skin; color changes in the skin and mucous membranes; crackles (rales); dyspnea; dysrhythmias; fatigue; orthopnea; restlessness
