Answer to Question 1

Correct Answer: 2
The myometrium is the middle layer and makes up most of the uterine wall. This layer has muscle fibers that run in various directions and allow contractions during menstruation or childbirth and expansion as the fetus grows. Neither the perimetrium, a serous layer, nor the endometrium, the innermost layer that is shed during menstruation, has muscle that can contract and cause pain. The cervix is the pathway between the vagina and the uterus and is not the area of muscle contraction that causes menstrual cramps.

Answer to Question 2

Correct Answer: 1
Antispasmodic medication may cause problems with sexual function. Hydrocortisone cream is not identified as a medication that may cause problems with sexual function. A male at the age of 40 does not routinely experience erectile dysfunction. There is no indication that the patient has any neurological deficits from the muscular back injury.
