Answer to Question 1

Correct Answer: 1

Absence (or petit mal) seizures involve a blank stare, unresponsiveness to questions, and smacking of the lips. A partial seizure involves only one area of the brain. The symptoms displayed are reflective of the area affected and may be muscle contraction of a single body part if the motor cortex is affected. Sensory manifestations may be exhibited by hallucinations or abnormal sensations. Tonicclonic seizures involve generalized contraction coupled with impairment of consciousness. Status epilepticus is a term used to describe repetitive seizures with only very brief calm periods in between.

Answer to Question 2

Correct Answer: 1
Accelerationdeceler ation injury (linear injury) occurs when the head hits an object and the brain rebounds within the skull. Rotational injury occurs when the brain rotates within the skull and hits bony buttresses in the cranial vault. Contact phenomenon injury occurs when the head is hit by a moving object, such as a swinging bat. Stationary is not a type of injury.

Your skin wrinkles if you stay in the bathtub a long time because the outermost layer of skin (which consists of dead keratin) swells when it absorbs water. It is tightly attached to the skin below it, so it compensates for the increased area by wrinkling. This happens to the hands and feet because they have the thickest layer of dead keratin cells.
