Answer to Question 1

Correct Answer: 1
The dye used in angiography is nephrotoxic, and the patient should have adequate fluids after the procedure to eliminate the dye. The patient should lie with the affected leg extended for the prescribed period of time. There is no evidence that the patient is recovering well. Leg exercises are not recommended as they could dislodge the clot at the insertion site.

Answer to Question 2

Correct Answer: 1
A palpable thrill over the precordium indicates severe valve stenosis. A thrill is not present when the heart is merely enlarged. Stenosis of the carotid arteries would produce a thrill palpable on the neck over the carotid arteries, not the precordium. Increased pulsations in the aortic area indicate an aortic aneurysm.

Hypertension is a silent killer because it is deadly and has no significant early symptoms. The danger from hypertension is the extra load on the heart, which can lead to hypertensive heart disease and kidney damage. This occurs without any major symptoms until the high blood pressure becomes extreme. Regular blood pressure checks are an important method of catching hypertension before it can kill you.

There can actually be a 25-hour time difference between certain locations in the world. The International Date Line passes between the islands of Samoa and American Samoa. It is not a straight line, but "zig-zags" around various island chains. Therefore, Samoa and nearby islands have one date, while American Samoa and nearby islands are one day behind. Daylight saving time is used in some islands, but not in others—further shifting the hours out of sync with natural time.
