Answer to Question 1

Correct Answer: 1
The skin functions as a synthesizer of vitamin D (sunlight reacts with cholesterol). Hypercholesterolemi a results from factors such as dietary intake and cholesterol that is produced by the body. The skin does retard the loss of fluid and does play a role in fluid and electrolyte balance. However, avoiding the sun does not increase the patient's risk of developing hypokalemia or hypernatremia.

Answer to Question 2

Correct Answer: 1, 2, 4, 5
Most sebaceous glands and sweat glands, as well as the pain and touch receptors, are located in the dermis. Most hair follicles are also located in the dermis, not the subcutaneous tissue.
