Answer to Question 1

Correct Answer: 1

Hospital-acquired pneumonia is a common hospital-acquired infection with the highest morbidity and mortality rate. Explaining the correct rationale for the use of the device will increases the chances of compliance in a patient. Incentive spirometry is not intended as a diversionary tool and does not reduce the risk of getting a cold. Although the physician may have ordered the treatment, this response does not address the patient's need for information.

Answer to Question 2

Correct Answer: 3

The most commonly prescribed macrolide is erythromycin (E-mycin), which should be taken on an empty stomach and without acidic juice. A full glass of water is suggested instead of milk or another beverage.
