Answer to Question 1

Correct Answer: 3

The cold zone is considered the safe zone. It is the area in which a more in-depth triage of victims can be performed. The hot zone is closest to the site of the disaster. Decontamination takes place in the hot zone. It would not provide the needed safety to perform in-depth triage activities. The warm zone also serves as a location for decontamination of victims. Personal protective equipment is needed. It is not a safe location for the in-depth triage. None of the zones is referred to as a clean zone.

Answer to Question 2

Correct Answer: 1

After the chemical exposure, the patient's clothing, jewelry, and contact lenses should be removed. The chemical should then be flushed from the skin with copious amounts of cool running water.
