1. The client in the late stage of Alzheimer is usually incontinent and cannot follow orders.
2. The client in late stage Alzheimer cannot ambulate and is immobile.
3. Alzheimer clients in the late stage frequently experience hyperorality and put things in their mouth like a toddler. This puts them at risk for choking.
4. Since the client is mostly immobile and not functioning mentally, the nurse would not plan this activity.

1. Aricept is the only anti-dementia drug that is safe for late stage Alzheimer. The nurse would give the drug.
2. Placing the medication on the client's tongue to dissolve is the appropriate method of administration.
3. The order is appropriate and would not be questioned.
4. Aricept is not given IM.
