Answer to Question 1

Answer: 3

1. The family situation could contribute to the client's illness, but did not make the client ill.
2. The family can and does influence the client's response to life.
3. The nurse assesses the strengths and support system of the mentally ill client.
4. The financial system of the family is a consideration, but not mainly the concern of the nurse.

Answer to Question 2

Answer: 2

1. The workplace might truly believe the client is outside the normal expected behavior.
2. People of different cultures and religious beliefs do behave differently, and what is considered normal in one culture might be considered abnormal in another. The nurse needs to investigate this with the client.
3. Anger does not mean the client is mentally ill.
4. Religions do not cause mental illness; the client has to have the capability to be ill. However, some religions might dispose the client to wrong thinking due to indoctrination. That does not mean the client is mentally ill.
