A client is being treated for superficial burns. For which manifestations should the nurse plan interventions for this client?

  2. Dehydration and thirst

2. Dehydration and thirst occur more with more severe burns when fluid is lost or sequestered in interstitial spaces.
3. These are the symptoms experienced with superficial burns.
4. Pain can occur, but not memory loss.

1. The client needs to maintain adequate fluid intake.
2. The client will not need dressing changes at home.
3. Exercise is important, and the family should be taught what is appropriate for the client.
4. A major component of healing is maintaining a high-carbohydrate and high-protein diet. The nurse should teach the family about nutritional care of the client.
