Answer to Question 1

Answer: 2

1. A body bone scan would not be helpful in the diagnosis of a rotator cuff injury.
2. An x-ray can show whether there are injuries to the shoulder bones but does not visualize damage to the soft tissue. An MRI will diagnose soft tissue damage.
3. Even contrast will not show soft tissue damage.
4. Blood studies are not relevant to a rotator cuff injury.

Answer to Question 2

Answer: 3

1. There is no dye used in an arthroscopy; it is direct visualization.
2. Increasing fiber in the diet is not necessary.
3. The client will have activity restrictions and will need an alternative method to ambulate.
4. Skin care is not relevant to this procedure.
