2. It may remove irritants but that is not the main purpose of the tube.
3. It may relieve nausea, but that is not the main purpose of the tube.
4. Keeping the client NPO and inserting an NG tube decrease enzyme production by the pancreas, allowing the organ to rest.

1. Oral contraceptives do not increase the risk for developing cholecystitis.
2. Oral contraceptives do not increase the risk for developing hepatitis.
3. Oral contraceptives do not increase the risk for developing kidney stones.
4. Use of oral contraceptives is a risk factor for development of gallstones, or cholelithiasis.
