Answer to Question 1

Answer: 4

1. Making an assumption that the client does not respect the medical system is a form of stereotyping and is prejudicial.
2. The nurse does not decide ahead of time about the client's ability to adhere to the treatment. That is a decision made after the assessment is done.
3. The client would not have arrived at all if there were no interest in getting care.
4. Present-oriented cultures are flexible with time and are better suited to a block of time for arrival rather than a specific time.

Answer to Question 2

Answer: 1

1. The nurse demonstrates caring by asking the family whether they are interested in having last rites performed for their family member.
2. Asking the family about funeral arrangements at this time would be an insensitive action by the nurse.
3. Generally, the hospital has a representative or the doctor discuss organ donation with the family.
4. Jehovah's Witness members do not allow blood transfusions.
