Decreased visual acuity and a reddish tint to vision can also occur because of a hyphema or bleeding into the anterior chamber of the eye. Eye pain and loss of vision are associated with penetrating injuries to the eye. A cloudy cornea is associated with burns to the eye. Photophobia and eye tearing are seen in corneal abrasions.

Retinal detachment may occur after lens removal, such as after cataracts surgery. The client is not at higher risk for any of the other eye injuries.
