Do you believe that future persons have any moral claims on current persons? Why, or why not? How does this issue relate to that of (a) climate change, and (b) genetic engineering?

Are there any tensions between Sunsteins observations concerning open source software and Hardins observations concerning the tragedy of the commons? What might the explanation be for the differences here?
