Answer to Question 1

Answer: B, C

Bronchodilator drugs such as albuterol inhaler may be administered to open the airways and antibiotics such as amoxicillin may be prescribed to treat respiratory infections. Benzodiazepines such as diazepam are central nervous system depressants and would adversely affect this client's respiratory rate, adversely affecting respiratory acidosis. Potassium chloride is indicated in the treatment of metabolic alkalosis.

Answer to Question 2

Answer: A, B, C, E

Treatment options appropriate for a client newly diagnosed with breast cancer may include mastectomy, hormone therapy, lumpectomy, and radiation. Palliative care will only be implemented once the client's cancer is considered to be terminal in nature.
