Answer to Question 1

The industry is carbon-neutral, typically processing plant and tree matter to produce
energy. But environmentalists are increasingly concerned that these plants are
hastening depletion of forests, which play an important role in biodiversity. Dozens of
plants are already operating in several states. Research reputable sources to determine
if biomass power plants are operating in your state or region. Identify the many factors to
weigh in deciding whether more of these should be encouraged, including the impact on
persons, as well as the environment. Then develop ethical arguments in support of or
opposing more biomass power plants.
