  convicted criminal.

Answer to Question 1

As with question 1, philosophically analyze whether this method is
justifiable and does or does not constitute cruel and unusual punishment.

Answer to Question 2

This
method has come under harsh attack, as it is often administered incorrectly, for
example, with insufficient sedatives to dull the pain of the later procedures. Supporters of
this technique argue that the convicted murderers had no such compassion for their
victims when they committed the crime. Opponents consider this cruel and unusual; as it
is being administered on behalf of the society at large, it should at least be humane.
Philosophically analyze both sides of this debate to consider whether this method is or is
not cruel and unusual punishment.
