For my history homework I have to write about the rights of black people in the US, and the civil rights movement. I just wanted to know what the names of the laws were in the South before the civil rights movement; laws that were highly racist and were pro-segregation etc. Thanks in advance.

um....slavery was one......You may try and open your history book.  You are looking pretty bad there kiddo.  But also know that before the civil war 1/2 of all blacks in the state of maryland were free and infact owned slaves themselves in many cases.  Get the truth.

They were collectively called "Jim Crow" laws.  Public buildings were required to have separate facilities for blacks and whites (bathrooms, drinking fountains, restaurants, movie theaters, etc.)

On voting days, they had poll taxes (blacks had to pay money to vote), or "citizenship" tests (impossible questions to answer) to be able to vote, so they never did vote.

Why don't you read the Constitution? Only white Europeans can become legal citizens.  The Snivel rights movement  was started by Soviet agents. The same agents who supported the drug using, prostitute loving MLK.

Laws against interracial marriage, laws providing for segregated schools, regulations providing for separate transportation, laws preventing voting, laws preventing land ownership.  In fact racist laws covering just about any aspect of life were in place at various time in various places.

In addition, laws were NOT in place to prevent normal day to day prejudice.  It was legal to hire based on race, legal for a business to serve customers based on race.  Sometimes it does not require action to create a harm, it can be simple INACTION.
