Adenocarcinoma is cancer of the epithelial cells that line the ducts of glands of the breast, gallbladder, pancreas, prostate gland, or salivary gland. The word part aden/o- means gland. Carcinoma is cancer of the epithelial cells of the skin and mucous membranes of various organs.
