Blood enters the heart into the right atrium, through the tricuspid valve to the right ventricle, through the pulmonary valve, and to the lungs via the pulmonary artery. Blood returns to the heart from the lungs via the pulmonary vein, through the left atrium, through the mitral valve, through the left ventricle, and through the aortic valve, through the aorta to the body.
