Eric presented to the ED with complaints of SOB, hemoptysis, and right sided chest pain, which worsens when taking a deep breath. He had fever and chills, which started a few hours before he arrived at the ED. He looks pale and slight cyanosis is discerned. He was immediately started on oxygen and IV fluids. Right-sided rales are heard on auscultation of the lungs. Rapid urinary antigen test was positive for S. pneumoniae. CXR was also positive for pneumonia. The patient was admitted for antibiotic treatment.
