  We now know that our solar system is not the center of our galaxy, and that our galaxy is not the center of the universe. Assessing our situation thoughtfully helps us make an initial tentative decision about what steps we are going to take to resolve the problem. In turn, making a preliminary decision helps us clarify our expectations, so we can better assess what level of resolution will be good enough, given the current circumstances, for us to consider the problem to be resolved at least for the present.
