4. Physical exercise in patients with Type 1 DM will decrease blood glucose levels and is a key element to include in the lifestyle of patients who have hyperglycemia. However, due to the decrease in blood glucose levels during exercise or team sports, the child must add an additional complex carbohydrate and protein snack to help the body maintain glucose levels during exercise.
