What is the function of the scrotum?
 
  1. Produce testosterone, the primary male sex hormone
  2. Deposit sperm in the female vagina during sexual intercourse so that fertilization of the ovum can occur
  3. Provide a reservoir where spermatozoa can survive for a long period
  4. Protect the testes and the sperm by maintaining a temperature lower than that of the body
