Answer to Question 1

1
Rationale 1: Encouraging sitz baths is the correct approach because moist heat decreases inflammation and provides for comfort.
Rationale 2: Positioning the patient in a supine position would increase the pressure on the hemorrhoids.
Rationale 3: Avoiding stool softeners would put the patient at risk for constipation and increase the likelihood of inflammation.
Rationale 4: Decreasing fluid intake would put the patient at risk for constipation and would be contraindicated for reducing inflammation.

Answer:3
Rationale:Newborns with cystic fibrosis may present in the first 48 hours with meconium ileus.Steatorrhea, constipation, and rectal prolapse may be signs of cystic fibrosis seen in an older infant or child.

Dogs have been used in studies to detect various cancers in human subjects. They have been trained to sniff breath samples from humans that were collected by having them breathe into special tubes. These people included 55 lung cancer patients, 31 breast cancer patients, and 83 cancer-free patients. The dogs detected 54 of the 55 lung cancer patients as having cancer, detected 28 of the 31 breast cancer patients, and gave only three false-positive results (detecting cancer in people who didn't have it).

It most often affects middle-aged and elderly individuals, spreading to surrounding tissue in the lungs. The disease often does not respond to conventionally successful treatments, and requires individualized therapies in order to keep it from becoming life-threatening.

There can actually be a 25-hour time difference between certain locations in the world. The International Date Line passes between the islands of Samoa and American Samoa. It is not a straight line, but "zig-zags" around various island chains. Therefore, Samoa and nearby islands have one date, while American Samoa and nearby islands are one day behind. Daylight saving time is used in some islands, but not in others—further shifting the hours out of sync with natural time.
