Answer to Question 1

B
Feedback:
The fact that the child does not babble or laugh might suggest a developmental problem. At 4 to 5 months of age most children are making simple vowel sounds, laughing aloud, doing raspberries, and vocalizing in response to voices. The child should have developed past cooing or gurgling, but is too young to squeal, yell, or say dada or mama.

Answer to Question 2

C
Feedback:
The Rinne test is conducted by placing the stem of a tuning fork against the mastoid bone. When the sound disappears the fork is then moved to the auditory meatus. If the sound cannot be heard at the auditory meatus, this means air conduction of sound is impaired. This does not mean that bone conduction of sound is impaired. This does not mean that the child has normal hearing. This also does not mean that the child is totally deaf.
